Thieves nabbed

JANUARY 29: Five watch thieves were arrested and 341 watches worth Rs 3.5 lakh were seized from them at Ambedkar Nagar at Sion in North-East Mumbai on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the residences of the thieves and recovered five plastic bags hidden in a corner under a gunny bag. The bags contained Titan watches worth Rs 3.5 lakh. The five confessed to having broken into a shop at Panvel and having looted the booty. The gang had committed similar offences at Chembur Camp and Dharavi.
