This is not quite in the league of Big Brother, and nothing compared to the media frenzy that surrounded Shilpa Shetty, but Indian reality series Cricket Star winner 8212; 20-year-old Sukhvir Singh 8212; is quite a name here.

This is not quite in the league of Big Brother, and nothing compared to the media frenzy that surrounded Shilpa Shetty, but Indian reality series Cricket Star winner 8212; 20-year-old Sukhvir Singh 8212; is quite a name here.

For the son of a bus driver 8212; a young boy who can8217;t help but falter with his English, and who never saw much out of his village Shahpur, near Mohali, in Punjab 8212; to be in England now, busy giving at least one interview a day and attending dinner parties with the likes of Stephen Fleming and Paul Nixon, life is more than a dream come true.

Sukhvir is 8220;happy8221;. It is his nickname too. And he8217;s living up to his celebrity status here.

By a record margin, he had emerged as the winner of the cricket talent hunt reality show8212; Cricket Star, on television. He won the competition to earn an opportunity to train and play for Leicestershire County Cricket Club8217;s second division team. The results of the television show were based on text messages received by viewers.

Sukhvir is a right-arm fast bowler and can bowl at around 125 kmph. 8220;To train here is a great feeling,8221; he said. 8220;This is a dream for me.8221;
