August 4

Jammu tense, violence spreads to Kashmir. The Valley shuts to Geelani8217;s strike call. A 20-year-old protestor dies after being hit by a teargas shell.

August 5

Widespread violence across Jammu, with protestors attacking a police post, uprooting railway track and thrashing policemen. SrinagaR SEES violent demonstrations.
