PAST RECORD: Gold 1500m and Bronze 5000m at Busan Asiad; Four gold medals in World Police athletics meet 2003; Finished a poor fourth in 1500m event at Afro-Asian Games 2003
OLYMPIC HISTORY: Never participated before.
WHY SHE DIDN8217;T GET THE TICKET: Has been out of the scene since the Afro-Asian Games last year where she hurt her ankle.
WHAT ABOUT BEIJING: It8217;s my dream to participate in Olympics and age 8212; I am 24 right now 8212; is also on my side. Didn8217;t P.T. Usha run for so long? I want to do well at least once more. I want to show the world that I am talented enough to win an Olympic medal. Two years of serious practice without any injury or tension read controversy is all I need to achieve my goals. Also, since competition is really tough in 5000m event in Asia, I want to shift my focus to 800m race besides the 1500m discipline and train under a good foreign coach.
A WORD FOR THE QUALIFIERS: If the relay team achieves as good a timing as they are clocking now, they could be among the top five teams. But if I have to put my money on anyone, it will be on Anju Bobby George. She is an excellent form.

SUNITASPEAK
I am still recovering from a tendon injury suffered before the Afro-Asian Games last year. There was also this long gap during the medals controversy after the Busan Asian Games in which I lost concentration and also didn8217;t get to practice much. The doctors say that I could be back on track soon.
