JAIPUR, DECEMBER 10: Rapidly gaining his rhythm, Leander Paes outclassed Asia8217;s No 1 Srichaphan Paradorn of Thailand 6-3, 6-4 and set a title clash with Cowan Barry of Britain in the Bikaji Rajasthan Golden Jubilee ATP Tour Challenger Tennis championship at the Jai Club Courts here today.
Paes took only 77 minutes in disposing of the Thai lad breaking him in fourth and 11th games of the first set and then in the very first game in the next set.
Barry 8212; the eighth seed from Britain-proved his clear superiority over countrymate Delagado Jamie 8212; the fourth seed and the finalist of the Lucknow challenger, beating him 7-5, 6-4.
The second seed pair of Anzari Tomas Cze and Iwabuchi Satoshi Japan made short work of Indian duo Prahlad Srinath and Syed Fazaluddin beating them 6-4, 6-4 to claim the doubles title.
Paes said he found the desired rhythm: 8220;It had been a dream run for him for the last two weeks. I played well and my serve and volley game was working today.8221; He admitted he had watchedParadorn play India8217;s Vishal Uppal and had found him a tough guy physically and mentally. Accordingly, he had set his game plan, which worked successfully as the Thai lad kept committing mistakes.
The other semi-final saw taller Cowan adjust his strokes quickly to the uneven bounce as compared to Delgado and that made all the difference between the two.
