UDHAGAMANDALAM, MARCH 16: This year's tournament, which has already invited protests from the powerful State associations like Bengal, Goa and Kerala, is scheduled to kick off five days before the conclusion of the NFL. The fixtures were, however, rescheduled at the 11th hour to enable the so-called stars of these three States to take part in the Nationals. But it is to be seen how many of the stars would make it to the tournament, as none would risk injuries at this crucial time of inter-State transfers. As a result, many of the States would be fielding depleted sides. There is widespread protest over the scheduling of the National tournaments by the AIFF. Goa's Vasco Sports Club has already threatened to take the federation to court if the second division fixtures of the National League are not held before the forthcoming inter-State transfers of the players.
