Teachers demand new scales

PATIALA, JAN 21: Punjab Government College Teachers8217; Association has demanded early implementation of the new UGC scales. P. S. Bhatti, president of the association in a statement here today said that college teachers in Punjab were resentful over the non-implementation of the new pay-scales.

He said the salary of government college teachers in Punjab was not commensurate with their status. A meeting of the executive of the association will be held on February 14, to chalk out the future course of action, Bhatti added.

The association appealed to the chief minister, to accept the demands of the teachers and order an early implementation of various notifications of the HRD Ministry.
