
CHANDIGARH, June 22: In India, every five minutes one patient dies of tuberculosis and a diagnostic research of the suspected TB cases in Punjab has revealed that 25 per cent of these cases had tested positive, revealed Dr H. J. Singh of Ranjit Hospital and Chest Care Centre while addressing a press conference here.Moreover, 75 per cent of lung cancer patients were getting anti-TB treatment, as the investigations only revealed shadow in the liver, making the diagnosis difficult, said Dr Singh. Chest diseases are on the rise due to the pollution caused by increased traffic and rapid industrialisation.
