Wondering what to do with your kids this summer? A perfect solution could be a camp in the cool hills around Chandigarh, where you can unwind and also develop a new hobby.

The first step is to identify the sort of activity you and your child would like to go in for. If river rafting and water sports are your interests, then Dak Pathar is the place where you will find it in abundance.

Dak Pathar also offers you opportunities for camping, trekking and tent pitching. Even adults who have hydrophobia have known to overcome it while walking along these river beds.

If mother earth doesn8217;t please you, you can just take off and spend your time para-sailing in Dak Pathar. Another place that offers para-gliding and trekking is the Manali Solang Naulla Camp, on the way to Rohtank.

The Himgiri camp is situated close to Chehal, at the foothills of the snow capped Chirudhar peak. That sure is tempting. In the vicinity of the highest peak in the Shimla hills, you can go rock climbing or learn archery and croquet. You can end your day around camp fires surrounded by the snow-capped mountains.

If the hills don8217;t please you, the Jim Corbett National Park is a wonderful alternative. For those who are fond of wildlife, the place is a treasure house for spotting different species of animals and birds. It is probably the only sanctuary where you stay 51 kilometers inside Corbett National Park, in a place called Dhakala.

You can also experience the cool weather by snow crafting in the Dhauladar ranges. Their camps include jungle trails, obstacle courses for children and cross country runs.

For those who are into serious rock climbing, the Institute of Rock Climbing in Manali is a great place to learn everything there is to know about it, with lectures by experienced instructors.

This sure will give a tremendous boost to your adventurous spirit. So people, put on you mountaineering boots and rush to the call of the snow-capped mountains.
