Syndicate favours students

In another decision taken, Commerce Faculty Dean J K Syan will have to give an explanation as to why admissions were granted to students on December 18 and 19 though it was not within his powers and students will have to answer why they depended on Inamdar.

The Syndicate decision has evolved mixed reaction. When contacted, Arts Faculty Dean Maya Shah said the move would encourage students to have a more casual approach. According to her, once the admission procedure was finalised, no changes should be made.

Syndicate member and professor of the Faculty of Commerce, Pragnesh Shah said, accommodating students would not be a problem as they would now be given admissions either at the main building or at the Padra College depending on their percentage. He, however, said that students would take the admission procedure casually.

Dean of the Faculty of Science Bonny Pilo said, the decision was justified from the administrative point of view, but it would set a wrong precedent. Pilo said now students will come and say they had forgotten and would be granted admissions.
