MADURAI, AUG 3: Janata Party president Dr Subramanian Swamy today asked Kerala Chief Minister E K Nayanar to clarify how a senior official of Keltron, a kerala government-owned company, turned hostile in the colour TV scam involving former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha.
Talking to reporters here, Swamy alleged that the official, after having given a sworn statement in favour of the prosecution, had made a somersault8217; within days of the AIADMK and CPIM forging an electoral alliance in Tamil Nadu for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Swamy said he had written to Nayanar saying that if government officials could change statements given under oath in the scam, claiming coercion, then justice would be polluted.
Swmay said he would file a public interest litigation seeking a direction to prosecute the officer and find out if there is a collusion between the CPIM and AIADMK8217;.
He said it was not possible to allow the prosecution in corruption cases to be diluted by the shifting politicalalliances.
