One of the five men held by the police in connection with the Madrid attacks had been linked more than two years ago to a suspected Al Qaeda cell that operated in Spain and helped prepare the 9/11 attacks. The suspect, Jamal Zougam, is one of three Moroccan immigrants who worked for a modest cell phone concern here. — (NYT)
