Woman dead
One Madhuben Natwarbhai, a 35-year-old resident of Shivajinagar slum in Katargam who tried to end her life by setting herself on fire on Monday night, died in the New Civil Hospital on Thursday, the Katargam police said. The cause for suicide is yet not ascertained, the police added. A case under Cr PC 174 has been registered and is being investigated.

Found dead
A 19-year-old married man, Rakeshbhai Varia, was declared dead on admission to the Ashaktashram hospital on Thursday morning, the Mahidharpura police said. According to the police, Kailashben, the wife of the deceased, finding Rakeshbhai in a unconscious state in their house at Khan Saheb Na Dela in Mahidharpura, admitted him to the Ashaktashram hospital on Thursday. Neither the police nor the deceased’s family are certain of the cause of death. The body has been sent to the New Civil hospital for scientific examination to find out the cause of death. A case has been registered at the Mahidharpura police station under CrPC 174 and is being investigated.

Major theft
Cash of Rs 1.15 lakh along with gold, silver and other valuables worth Rs 6.12 lakh were stolen by unidentified people from a bungalow located at Lal Darwaja area of the city, a complaint registered in the Mahidharpura police station on Thursday said. Madanben Damanwala, a widow staying alone in the bungalow, told the police in a complaint that when she arrived at her house after spending a week with her relatives, she fond the bathroom grills broken and cash, gold, silver and other valuables worth Rs 6,11,900 missing. The police have registered a case and have initiated investigations.
