Rainfall forecast
SURAT:
The local weather office has forecast gusty winds and rainfall in Surat, Valsad, Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on Tuesday. Fishermen have been advised not to venture out into the sea.

Meeting
A special meeting will be chaired by District Collector R M Shah on Tuesday, to review the progress made in fund collection for the cyclone-affected people of Kutch and Saurashtra. The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. in the collector8217;s office.

Condolence meet
Hemlataben Desai, a junior clerk posted at Surat RTO office, died in an accident on Sunday. The Gujarat State Karamchari Staff Association has organised a condolence meeting on Tuesday at 11 am at RTO office. RTO K M Patel in a statement has asked all employees to be present at the meeting.

Training exhibit
The District Information Department will hold a vocational training exhibition at the Sarvajanik High School in Kacheliyama on Tuesday at 1 pm. Those who have passed SSC and HSC exams will be provided information regarding different courses. Interested should meet Baghubhai Patel, who will conduct the programme.

Bharuch Tension
BHARUCH:
Tension gripped the Fata Talav area of Bharuch on Sunday, after members of two communities, who were engaged in a game of cricket, clashed over the match. The situation turned tense when the two groups began pelting each other with stones. The agitated mob is also learnt to have burnt three auto-rickshaws. Six injured people were admitted to the Patel Welfare Hospital at Bharuch. A police team has since stepped into the picture and the situation is now said to be under control. However, Police Superintendent Ashish Bhatia has declared a red-alert in the town.

AIA meeting
The Annual General Meeting of Ankleshwar Industries Association for 1997-98 will be held on 26th June at Hotel Sadanand at 3 p.m. Minister for Narmada Jaynarayan Vyas will also attend the meeting and distribute AI Anadpura Export trophy to the winners.
