India Open Super 750 gets a new venue as India gears up for Badminton World Championships later
The change in venue is due to the more seating capacity of the venue and with India set to host the Badminton World Championships next year in August, it will also serve as the test run for the venue.

(Express Photo by Praveen Khanna) The BWF India Open Super 750 tournament will be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium instead of the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall this time. The tournament is scheduled from 13th January to 18th January and is the second event on the BWF World Tour with Malaysia Open Super 750 being the season opener.
The change in venue is due to the more seating capacity of the venue and with India set to host the Badminton World Championships next year in August, it will also serve as the test run for the venue.
The Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium has a seating capacity of over 8,000, more than double that of the previous venue, and tickets for the India Open will be available exclusively online through the tournament’s ticketing partner, Ticmint, priced from Rs 400 onwards, with premium seating capped at Rs 1,750.
