Bihar train accident update: Several trains continue to remain affected for the second consecutive day today following the derailment of eight wagons of a goods train in Bihar on Saturday night. The incident took place between Lahaban and Simulthala stations in the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway (ER). It falls within Bihar’s Jamui district. The derailment disrupted rail operations on both the Up and Down lines of the section.

On Sunday, speaking to Indianexpress.com, Shibram Majhi, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Eastern Railway, said a probe is underway and efforts are being made to normalise train operations at the earliest. “We are trying our best for normalise train operations. All the experts are on the site. Probe going on,” the official told Indianexpress.com.
