
CM addresses BJP youth in Mandvi
Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel addressed the BJP Yuva Morcha convention at Songadh taluka of Mandvi constituency on Monday. In a blistering attack, he described the Congress as a 8220;power-hungry party8221; and said Chief Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had saved the country from slipping into anarchy.
RSS donation
The South Gujarat wing of the Rashtriya Swayamasevak Sangh has donated Rs 13.50 lakh to the Kargil relief fund after raising the amount from workers. In a function in the city, regional chief Kishorbhai Desai and city chief Somnathji Kherkar handed over the cheque to Union Textile Minister Kashiram Rana.

Seven classes
Vadodara: District Education Officer V Nanavati has sanctioned seven classes in the four schools that have been allowed to introduce Class XI this year. These classes will be considered granted from the next academic year.
MSU forms
Application forms for SYBA and MA part-I will be issued at the Central Hall of M S University on August 12 and 13. Forms will be accepted between noon to 2 pm. Admissions in Psychology, English, Archaeology and Geography will not be distributed as admissions for these subjects are already over.
Cell meeting
The Grievance Committee Cell, set up to look into the admission prospects of four students refused admission earlier in the Faculty of Arts, M S University, will meet on Tuesday to decide if they could be accommodated in other faculties.
VMC fines
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation has recovered Rs 41,950 in fines from litter-bugs in the past week. According to an official release, 163 patharas and 184 hand-carts were removed from non-hawking zones and areas where they hindered the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
Quit India8217;
The city unit of the BJP staged a demonstration on Monday outside the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Gruh demanding that the Congress quit India8217; on the 55th anniversary of the Quit India movement. The demonstrators said there should be no infiltrators inside the borders and no foreigner in Parliament.
