
Trust honours students
The Birla Cellulosic Jan Vikas Trust felicitated 40 students of standard X and XII who stood first in various talukas of Bharuch district at a function held recently. Teachers were also honoured on the occasion. While Chairman of the District Education Committee Raman Patel was the chief guest, Natubhai Warand 8212; who was awarded the best teacher award by the state government 8212; was the guest of honour.
Meeting held
The 33rd annual general meeting of the South Gujarat College and University Teachers8217; Association was held on Tuesday. The meeting, presided over by professor Suryakant Shah, decided to fight for a raise for the release of their salary. The university authorities had denied salary to agitating teachers.
Exhibition
Heenas, Business Development Services Pvt Ltd, has organised a three-day exhibition-cum-sale of consumer products, beginning December 25 at Dayalji Sanskar Bhavan, Majura Gate. While entry is free, the exhibition will be open from 10 am to 9 pm. A lucky draw and a surprise quiz competition will be the other attractions of the exhibition.
Forum head
Vadodara: Senior Divisional Judge of the Vadodara Civil Court J Brahmbhatt recently took charge as president of the District Consumer Redressal Forum. Brahmbhatt had been appointed as the forum head in October following the resignation of J Makwana as the DCRF president in August.
IT raids
Residential and factory premises of a Vadodara-based plastic industrialist were searched by sleuths of the income tax department on Tuesday. Searches were conducted at factory premises in Baska village near Halol, GIDC Makarpura, Daka village in Padra taluka and Gandhidham and residential premises of the proprietor on Vasna Road.
