MELBOURNE: Subhash Agrawal, the lone Indian survivor, entered the semi-finals of the Walter Lindrum Centenary World Billiards Championship as he used all his experience to stop Australia8217;s Frank Humphreys 1240-943, in the quarter-finals, here on Wednesday.

Subhash had played excellent billiards in all his league matches, but in the knock-out stage, he was surprisingly under pressure and has not been able to reproduce the old form.

He got off lucky against B Bhaskar on Tuesday when the latter got jaw snookered after potting the red in placing himself for a cross loser.

Providence certainly helped Subhash as Bhaskar had overtaken him and led by 10 points with just five minutes left. Ultimately, Bhaskar lost by 37 points.

On Wednesday, Subhash led by 707-454 int he first session against Humphreys and the Aussie came as close as 70 points with an hour left. Subhash did not panic and with small but effective breaks, once again went ahead and won by nearly 300 points.

The scores clearly indicated that the heat was on. So much so that Subhash had only one century break, a 144.

Top seeded Robbie Foldvari of Australia overcame a fighting Sirisoma of Sri Lanka 1072-757 to advance to the semi-finals. The Aussie professional led 647-327 at the half-way mark after knocking in a 209 and 163.
