In the other game at the above mentioned venue, St Joseph’s (Kalamboli) beat New Era (Cumballa Hill) 1-0 in the under-14 Div. IV-M tie. The all-important goal was scored by Jayesh Kulkarni.

Holy Family trounced Bombay Cambridge 3-0 in the under-14 4-J match at the former’s homeground. Alexander Lobo, Ashwin Patil and Noel D’Souza were the scorers.

Chembur English win

Chembur English beat PD Hinduja 2-1 in the MDFA Harwood football league at the St Xavier’s ground, today.

Johnny Fernandes and Gaston D’Costa netted for the winners. Vivek Oberoi reduced the margin.

Puranik triumphs

Mitesh Puranik (Mithibai) beat Aditya Bhave (Jai Hind) 21-8, 21-13, 21-14 in boys’ singles quarter-finals of the Inter-Collegiate Junior table tennis tournament, conducted by Mulund College of Commerce at their premises under the auspices of the Junior Colleges’s Sports Association of Mumbai, today.
