DECEMBER 8: St Stanislaus beat St Anne8217;s, Orlem, 2-0 to claim the first title of the season in the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School hockey tournament at the St Andrew8217;s ground, Bandra, today.

Stanislaus dictated terms in the first-half but could not get the better of St Anne8217;s goalkeeper Adrian D8217;Souza who had an outstanding game.

However, Stanislaus took the lead in the 47th minute through a superb reverse hit by Gavin Aguiar.

St Anne8217;s tried hard for the equaliser but Stanislaus went further up in the 55th minute through a field goal by Kyle Mascarenhas and held onto this lead till the end.

Boys u-16 3rd place:St Andrew8217;s 4 Atif Ansari, Vernon Nazareth, Asad Ali, Paul Lobo bt St Francis D8217;Assisi 2 Deepan Baid, Nishit Karkera via the tie-breaker.

Boys u-14 League: Hindi Vidya Bhavan 1 Sameer Narang drew with St Aloysius 1 Ronald Falcon.

Girls u-16 final: Apostolic Carmel, Bandra 2 Rofina Mascarenhas, Martina Fernandes bt St Joseph8217;s, Bandra 1 Glynelle Pereira. Third place: St Joseph8217;s,, Vikhroli 4 Reena Salian, Nabela Qureshi, Savira Cardoz, Jovita D8217;Souza bt St Francis Xavier, Kanjur Marg, 2 Saumya Babu, Donna Vaz.

ST Michael8217;s scored a comfortable 25-12, 25-15 over Sacred Heart, Worli in the boys under-16 pre-quarter-finals of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School volleyball tournament at the MSSA-Castrol ground, Azad Maidan, today.

SHOIAB Shaikh slammed 106 3215;6, 13215;4 to enable Vasant Vihar score a 146-run victory over Lok Puram in the first-round of the fourth Ghantali Cup under-14, 45-over Inter-School cricket tournament at the Central Maidan.
