Shah Rukh Khan8217;s quiz show on the small screen helped police book four persons of a family for allegedly duping several people in Amritsar by running a fake kitty and later decamping with Rs 1.75 crore.

The matter came to light after daughter of the alleged kingpin of the money laundering racket revealed where her family stayed in Mumbai while appearing as a contestant on the show.

Police have registered case against kingpin Renu Sethi, her husband Ashwani Kumar and daughters Shruti and Gandharv in connection with the case.

The accused had duped the investors and fled Amritsar and were stying in Mumbai. Police had hardly any clue of their whereabouts till they came to know about it through the game show, police said.

According to police, Renu Sethi was running kitty in the city having nearly one thousand members who had invested lakhs of rupees in it.

However, last month Renu who was living at Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar, went missing with the investors8217; money to the tune of Rs 1.75 crore.
