Srinath keeps future in balance

More than a decade ago, one skinny lad from Mysore arrived at Bangalore hoping to showcase his skills with the ball before the men who matter, which he believed would open the doors of Indian cricket team for him. Well, his notion was not entirely wrong as proved by the later course of events.

That youngster has now grown in stature as the mainstay of Indain fast bowling after the retirement of peerless Kapil Dev. Standing at the fag end of an illustrious career, that survived many a tumultous moment, Javagal Srinath has more than one reason to smile.

When Srinath says,8216;8216;I am pondering over my future,8217;8217; one could not cease to wonder when India will produce a paceman of the same quality. And marvel how effectively this man carried the Indian pace attack, often alone, in the docile pitches of sub-continents.
