If we want to win medals in mega events like the Olympics, Asian Games or the Commonwealth Games we should spend more on teams and individuals, their coaching and exposure rather than infrastructure,8221; said Vijay Kumar Malhotra president of the Archery Association of India during a send-off ceremony of the Indian archery team for the world championships in Germany.

Criticising the Sports Ministry for ignoring the Indian Olympic Association IOA and various federations while formulating a sport policy which is under preparation Malhotra said: 8220;Every time there is a change of guard at the Centre, a new sports policy is framed. What is the use of having a policy which can8217;t be implemented?

8220;They make policies where the expenditure is more than Rs 1000 crore, but the sport budget is just Rs 100 crore.8221;
