Sonia asks CM to ready package

Congress president Sonia Gandhi today asked Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh to prepare a package for people of the areas worst-hit by the recent floods.

Sonia, on a day8217;s visit to the state8217;s flood-affected areas, asked Deshmukh, who was accompanying her, to look into people8217;s problems. Sonia interacted with people at Narsingwadi village in Shirol taluka of Kolhapur district, one of the badly affected areas and assured that the state government would extend all possible help.

Sonia distributed relief material to people in Saki Naka in North-East Mumbai where several people had died in a landslide.
