
Celebrating Diwali
The Members of Vishwa Jagriti Mission visited the fire victims of Hanuman Nagar slum, Paud Road, Kothrud, on Diwali and distributed household utensils, clothes and sweets to 40 families. The members of the Mission also gave them wooden poles required for rebuilding the destroyed huts.
Mata Krishna Kashyap, Vidya Joshi, Harish Sethi and Sadanand Shetty were present on the occasion.
Brides-grooms-parents meet
With the main motto of serving the Sindhi Community, Sindhu Progressive Matrimonial organisation had organised its 19th Sindhi Brides-Grooms-Parents Meet on November 14 at B.T. Advani Ubauro Panchyat Dharamshala, Pimpri, at 6 pm. The organisation headed towards success with more than 800 registrations of boys and girls. Also within a short span of two and half years more than 300 proposals have been materialised. Visit of Sardar Chiranjeev SinghjiSardar Chiranjeev Singhji, National president, Rashtriya Singh Sangat is in Pune from November 13 to November 15. Rashtriya Singh Sangat is a socio-cultural, non political body to promote the cause of Sikhism and strengthening of traditional fraternity and national integration. On November 15 S Chiranjeevi Singhji will begin the day at 6.45 am at Prabhat Vibhag-Baithak, NMV school, near Appa Balwant Chowk.
Prayer week
The Young Women8217;s Christian Association of Poona YWCA and the Young Men8217;s Christian Association Association of Poona YMCA.arehaving their World Week of Prayer from November 14 to November 20 at the premises of both their organisations respectively. On November 14, Dr Leaderwell, principal, UBS, spoke at St Paul8217;s Church.
Gold medals for girls
Two more gold medals have been instituted by R K Joshi in memory of his mother Jaswanti Devi Joshi for the toppers of second year and final year BA. The gold medals are for students belonging to St Mira8217;s College for Girls. Earlier two gold medals were instituted by R K Joshi for the toppers of Std XII and first year BA.
