NEW DELHI, June 22: The Railways have decided to teach their staff the lost art of smiling at their customers.

The Northern Railway plans to open a school which will teach their frontline staff to be 8220;responsive and user-friendly.8221; The planned Customer Care Institute is meant to ensure that Railway staff provide service with a smile, according to a press release.

The Institute, which may began by August 15, will conduct courses for staff members who come in direct contact with customers 8211; reservation and parcel booking clerks, guards etc. The staff will also be exposed to state of art technology. The focus would be on bringing about an 8220;attitudinal change8221; among the staff.
