
SURAT, July 27: Smart card, or the computerised driving licence, was introduced in the district by the Regional Transport Office RTO on Tuesday. A RTO release issued here today said that henceforth all driving licences issued by the Surat RTO would be of the computerised variety which, apart from having regular features, stored important data as well.
Regional Transport Officer K M Patel on Tuesday inaugurated the Smart Card system by handing it over to an applicant at the RTO office at Majura Gate area.
