CHANDIGARH, May 31: Sewak Arts of Chandigarh presented the 30th show of historical play quot;Sirhind ki Dastaanquot;, at the Khalsa School, Kharar, yesterday evening. The play written by Paramjit Singh and directed by Gurinder Singh evoked a good response from the audience.
quot;Sirhind ki Dastaanquot; is set on the time when Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhs, vacated the fort at Anandgarh and the Muslims bricked the younger sons of the Guru alive. The heart rending scenes were presented well in spite of the predicament that Sikh Gurus and their families cannot be shown live.
Besides Paramjit Singh and Gurinder Singh in the role of Wazir Khan and Sutradhar, respectively, others in the cast included Gurpreet Singh as Kazi and Sukhpreet Singh as Sucha Nand. Karanbir Singh, a student of YPS, won the applause of the audience.
