Mumbai, June 30: Shruti Reddy and Arjun Muralidharan of Maharashtra were declared the best swimmers of the 17th Sub-junior aquatics championships which was held at the Agarwal Pool, Bareilly, from June 18-21.

In diving, the individual titles were shared by Maharashtra (two), UP, Goa, Karnataka and Bengal. Barring Group I, where UP boys and girls camp came up trumps, Maharashtra gave away nothing away in both sections of Group II and III.

Anujoy Bardhan of Navi Mumbai Sports Association and an eighth standard student of Father Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, won three golds and two silvers. Swimming in Group III (boys’ under-13), Bardhan was first in 50m freestyle, second in 100m, 200m freestyle and was also a member of both relay teams which bagged first place.

Bardhan will now represent India in the forthcoming Asia-Pacific competition to be held in China from August 5.
