
The race between states for setting up a proposed Indian National Defence University INDU is heating up with the Union Cabinet to take a decision on the matter soon. While Punjab is keen and has earmarked two sites in Hoshiarpur and Bathinda for the proposed university, Haryana seems to have taken a lead in the matter by sending a formal letter to the Defence Ministry offering 200 acres at Binola village along the NH 8. Pushing Haryana8217;s case within the ministry is Rao Inderjit Singh, the Minister of State for Defence, who not only belongs to Haryana but also represents the constituency in which Binola falls.
