
Junior State athletic team announced
Ahmednagar District Athletics Association has announced a 41-member team of boys and girls for the state junior athletes meet to be held at Kolhapur on December 27 and 28.
The team was announced by Prof. Rangnath Dagwale, general secretary of the association. The selection test for the state meet was conducted at the Ahmednagar College grounds.
The Teams
Under-8 years: Manoj Bansode, Yogesh Wagh, Sagar Bansode, Sriraj Kamble, Harsha Bhingardive, Priyanka Pawar, Bhakti Gund and Jyoti Gaurdkar.
Under-10: Rupesh Namdeo, Ganesh Misal, Anil Bhosale, Sarika Dome, Gitanjali Dalwi, Bhakti Gund, Seema Nimase and Sonam Kalamdane.
Under-12: Ramasheesh Yadav, Rahul Mannerao, Sonnis, Pawan Harke, Rahul Choure, Kisandeo Yadav, Albert Mathew, Pradip Ghule, Rishikesh Akolkar, Deepali Ghodekar, Akshata Mulay, Swati Ghadge, Ketaki Bakore, Asha Singh, Sunita Upadhyaya and Deepali Kulkarni.
Under-14: Sunil Dusunge, Nitin Shelar, Ganesh Bhingardive, Pratap Shinde, Dinesh Salwe, Jitendra Sharma, Chandan Kheryani, Rohit Nisar, Shamshana Ansari, Priya Amale, Ujjwala Thorat, Rupali Gore, Anju Dube, Swati Darade, Swati Lalage and Prachi Pawar.
Invitational cricket tourney
Deccan Gymkhana will organise an invitational cricket tournament on league basis for boys U-14 from December 24 to 29.
A total of eight teams 8212; Deccan Gymkhana A, PYC A, United Sports Club, Milind Gunjal Academy, Deccan Gymkhana B, PYC B, Club of Maharashtra and South City Club, are participating in the tournament.
Sr. State gymnastic squad
Vishal Deshpande along with Sagar Kulkarni and Rohit Ronghe all from Aurangabad have been selected in the Maharashtra state men8217;s team for the Senior National gymnastic championship scheduled to be held at Rajasthan from January 15 to 19, next year.
While four Mumbaites 8212; Lalita Metha, Mansi Topkar, Aditi Zavar and Arya Anjgaonkar have found place in the the State8217;s women squad. The teams was announced by the Maharashtra Amateur Gymnastic Association MAGA here today.
Before the national championship, the State association will hold a camp in Mumbai from January 6 to 12, 1999.

ISA inter-industry sport
The Industrial Sports Association will conduct the annual inter-industry Kabaddi tournament at the Telco Colony ground from December 26 to 28.
Meanwhile, the Krupp Industries sponsored late Rupmay Chatterjee inter-industry cricket tournament will commence form the month of January, 1999. The sports association has requested secretaries of the concerned industrial teams, planning to participate in any of the two or both tournaments, to contact Milind Gunjal, personnel welfare officer, Telco on Tel: 774261 or 702649.
Six-a-side cricket
Eight teams, including two from Mumbai are expected to participate in the Thump-Up six-a-side cricket tourney to be conducted by Symbiosis Spa at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana ground on December 25.
The one-day meet which started in 1985, but now resuming after a gap of eight years, has found sponsors in Coca-Cola India from this year and promises to continue the meet annually. The tourney will offer a total prize money of Rs 51,000, with winners taking away Rs 25,000 while the runners getting Rs 15,000.
