Sachin to lead Mumbai squad
Sachin Tendulkar will lead Mumbai against Karnataka in the Super League Ranji Trophy cricket match to be held at Bangalore from February 5 to 8.
Team: Sachin Tendulkar (Capt.), Samir Dighe, Amol Muzumdar,, Vinod Kambli, Jatin Paranjpe, Ajit Agarkar, Abey Kuruvilla, Shriram Kannan, Amit Dani, Nilesh Kulkarni, Rajesh Pawar, Wasim Jaffer, Amol Rane, Sushant Manjrekar and Ramesh Powar.

Bhushan captain
Bhushan Akut will lead defending champions Maharashtra in the Senior Inter-State and Senior National badminton championships to be held at Kochi from February 24 to March 1.

MEN: Bhushan Akut (captain), Rajeev Bagga, Mayur Tawade, Sanket Shetty, Vivek Gautam, Milind Ghate and Hemant Hardikar.

Three Indian batsmen feature in the top five of the Ceat cricket ratings. Saurav Ganguly (85 pts) is at the top, followed by Sachin Tendulkar (75) and Rahul Dravid is fifth with 67 pts. Chris Cairns (NZ) and Australia’s Ricky Ponting are in the third and fourth positions, respectively.

Bowling tourney
The 1.5 lakh prize-money Pepsi Open bowling championship for men and women commences at Buddy’s, Nana Chowk, on February 1 and concludes on February 19. The competition is being officiated by the Bowling andBilliards Association of India.

Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana’s (WCG) floodlit Open athletics meet will be held from February 2-4. The meet starts at 5.30 p.m. on all three days. Chest numbers should be collected from the Gymkhana office on February 1 between 11 am to 1 pm and 3 to 8 pm.
