Ganguly on top
Three Indian batsmen feature in the top five of the Ceat cricket ratings. Saurav Ganguly (85 pts) is at the top, followed by Sachin Tendulkar (75) and Rahul Dravid is fifth with 67 pts. Chris Cairns (NZ) and Australia’s Ricky Ponting are in the third and fourth positions, respectively.

Bowling tourney
The 1.5 lakh prize-money Pepsi Open bowling championship for men and women commences at Buddy’s, Nana Chowk, on February 1 and concludes on February 19. The competition is being officiated by the Bowling andBilliards Association of India.

YMCA chess
Bombay YMCA Navi Mumbai branch will conduct an Inter-School chess tournament on February 5 and 6.

WCG athletics
Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana’s (WCG) floodlit Open athletics meet will be held from February 2-4. The meet starts at 5.30 p.m. on all three days. Chest numbers should be collected from the Gymkhana office on February 1 between 11 am to 1 pm and 3 to 8 pm.

Japanese cricket
The fifth Inter-Japanese Sogo-Shosha cricket tournament will be held at the Parsee Gymkhana ground on February 5, commencing at 8.00 a.m.
