Inter-schools athletics

* The Mumbai School Sports Association will organise the Thums-Up 104th Annual Inter-Schools Athletics Championships on Dec 17 to 18 at the MSSA-Castrol Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan and Dec 20 to 22 at the University Stadium, Marine Lines.

Schools may send entries to the Association’s office on or before Dec 5. Further details may be obtained from the office.

State boxers among medals

* The 10-member Maharashtra boxing team collected two gold, as many silver and a bronze medal at the sub-junior national championship that concluded recently at Bhilai. Komal Yadav and Santosh Yadav (gold), Zalit Dengda and Girish Shirke (silver) and Vinod Kumar (bronze) were the medalists.

YMCA to hold aquatics event

* Bombay YMCA will be conducting the 21st Annual Inter-school/Jr college Aquatic championship from January 10 & 11, 1998 at the YMCA pool. Entries can be submitted between 9 a.m. & 1 p.m. on December 9 & 10, 1997.

Martial arts camp in city

* Sensei Farokh Dinshaw will hold a martial arts and fitness training camp between Dec 24 and Jan 1 at Dahanu. Training will include Orientation, Navigation, Survival in the wilderness and campcraft skills. The highlight will be revalidation of over a dozen black belts.
