Top drivers for Autocross

* Top Mumbai drivers Farhad Bhathena, Farokh Commissariat and Hormuzd Sorabjee are among 120 entrants expected to take part in an autocross exclusively meant for Maruti cars to be organised by Sportscraft at National Sports Club of India on February 22.

Organising committee chairman Shrikant Karani told a press conference last night that there would be events for men and women in eleven classes.

Autocross is a time trial event where driving skills like speeding, braking and negotiating hair-pin bends come into play while the driver is timed to a hundredth of a second over a specified distance on a dirt track.

The top three finishers in each class would be awarded trophies, but no cash prizes would be offered. February 19 was the last date for entering the event.

Inter-schools gymnastics

* The Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) will be conducting the inaugural Inter-Schools Gymnastic Competition from February 18-19 at the Bhartiya Krida Mandir, Wadala.The tournament will include Floor Excercises, Vaulting Horse and Balancing Beam.

MSSA will also be conducting the 3rd Inter-Schools Cycle Road Races on February 15. The race is being sponsored by Thums-Up. The last date for recieving entries is February 13.
