The national B Chess Championship, being organised by the Maharashtra Chess Association, will be held from August 18-31 at Andheri Sports Complex. Athletes are expected to carry their original bonafide birth certificates. The State selection trial is at Pune on August 17 and 18 while the West Zone Junior athletic championships is at Gandhi Nagar from August 22 to 24.

State Ranking table tennis

Bombay YMCA will be staging the Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at Sachivalaya Gymkhana from August 28. Entry forms for the five-day event can be obtained from all branches of the YMCA and should be submitted at Central YMCA, 12, NathalalParekh Marg, Colaba from August 10.
