State-level boxing

The Amateur Boxers of Maharashtra, alongwith with The Sunday Sports Association will be conducting a State-level Boxing Tournament on Sunday, May 9, at the Samarth Vyayam Mandir Grounds, Shivaji Park, State-level boxers from the Defence Forces, the Police and various parts of the State are expected to participate. Cricket award

Indian vice-captain Ajay Jadeja made it into the top five in the race for the Castrol Cricketer of the Year’ award. Other include Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath.

Veterans athletics

The Mumbai squad returned with five gold medals in the 21st National Veteran Athletic Championship which was held in New Delhi from April 16 to 18.Neelima Naidu struck gold twice in the women’s 35-plus Javelin and hammer-throw events.
