
James Singh to lead State junior team
Bengal Mumbai Football Club8217;s BMFC half-back James Singh will lead the Maharashtra State under-19 football team in the Junior National Championship to be held at Manipur.

Inter-Club golf
Amateur golfers from four clubs 8212; three from Mumbai and one from Pune 8212; will be seen in action at this year8217;s Grover Vineyards Inter-Club golf tournament at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club from Saturday.
Apart from the host club, United Services Club and Willingdon Sports Club from Mumbai and Poona Sports Club will be taking part in the two-day event.Played in the stableford format for the last two years, the third edition will see the introduction of the matchplay format, a la Ryder Cup. Briefing the press on the occasion, Kapil Grover of the sponsors, revealed another new addition that the tournament will be played in a round-robin league basis as against the knock-out format last year.
Each team will be represented by 24 players, of whom 21 will play each day. From each club three players will play singles, three pairs will comprise the foursomes and six pairs will compete in the fourball match-ups. The Grover Vineyards GolfTrophy for 1998 was won by the US Club.
