Sharma new Sanatan Dharam Sabha head

AMBALA, Sept 29: Dr Shiv Kumar Sharma has been elected president of the Shri Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha, Punjab. He was the unanimous choice at Tuesday8217;s executive committee meeting attended by representatives from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh to succeed late Pandit Mohan Lal as Sabha president and SSD Education Board president.

A former member of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Dr Shiv Kumar Sharma is the son of late Pandit Amar Nath Sharma, former president of the HP Pradesh Congress Committee, who also remained MLA from Palampur Assembly constituency. At present, he is chairman of the Rotary Eye Foundation and Rotary Helpage Foundation, Palampur.

A Paul Herris Fellow, Dr Sharma was given the quot;Service Above Selfquot; award by Rotary International.
