NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 14: Two National records were created in the first assessment trials held at Patiala on February 12, an Amateur Athletic Federation of India press release informed on Monday. Shakti Singh became the first Indian to cross the 20m mark in men8217;s shot put with a throw of 20.09m. The National record stands in Shakti8217;s name at 19.85m.

Neelam J Singh also bettered the National record in women8217;s discus throw crossing 61m. Neelam8217;s throw of 61.41m is better that her National record of 60.18m.

Nirbhay Singh 64.9m, 2. Rakesh Kumar 61.35. Discus throw: 1. Anil Kumar 58.22m, 2. Hridyanand 55.72. Shot put: 1. Shakti Singh 20.09m, 2. Bahadur Singh 19.14.
Women: 1000m: 1. Madhuri A Singh 2:46.0 secs, 2. Ramla Devi 2; 47.8. 10km walk:1. Paramjit Kaur 51:21.9, 2. Roni Bala Devi 51:32.9. Hammer throw: 1. K Jebeshwari Devi 54.32m, 2. Surinderjit Kaur 51.03. Discus throw: 1. Neelam J Singh 61.41m, 2. Sugan Yadav 52.96.
