Services continue to dominate

Punjab saw six of their quarter-finalists knocked out of the championships. Among the winners, super heavy weight champion Harpal Singh was the most impressive. He scored a RSC outclassed decision over last year8217;s heavy weight champion Anil Mann of Railways, who graduated into the higher weight category this year. He took just over a minute to knock down his shorter opponent.

The light-fly defending champion Bhim Singh of Punjab made an unceremonious exit against H Srinivas of Railways, having been disqualified by the referee in the fourth round for holding and punching with an open glove.

Birju Sah of Steel Plants was stretched by his opponent, Ch Rama Rao of Andhra Pradesh in the fly weight category. ZV Jollyson also of Steel Plants got a walk over the medically unfit Mohd Azam of Uttar Pradesh in the light welter category.

Alit Prasad of Railways, who is the defending champion in the light middle weight category registered an easy RSC head second round decision against L Branjen Singh of Assam Rifles.
