
Stock markets lost ground on Tuesday. Up over 37 points at one point, the 30-share BSE Sensitive index Sensex eventually ended with a loss of 42.29 points at 5,075.88, thus snapping its four-session winning streak. Market leaders like Reliance and SBI came under selling pressure and lost ground. The BSE Bankex 8212; banking share index 8212; fell by 1.95 per cent to 2,517.69. Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank and Corporation Bank ended lower on selling pressure.
