
VADODARA, July 4: The Government Railway Police GRP has beefed up security at all railway stations in Gujarat to detect suspiscious passengers and stave off possibilities of the ISI triggering trouble in the State.
Talking to Express Newsline on Sunday, Superintendent of Police, GRP Gujarat Circle P K Jha said that patrolling and checking in trains had also been increased to check passengers with dubious characters. 8220;We don8217;t want to take any risk at this juncture8221;, he said.
Jha said that four Pakistanis were detained by people on Saturday at the Kalol railway outpost near Ahmedabad on suspicion that they had come to spy on India.
However, interrogation of the four revealed that they were not spies and had come to meet their relatives at different places in the state. One of them, a 70-year-old lady, was going to Junagadh to meet her elder brother who is sick, Jha stated. Jha said that the GRP also planned to make announcements on the public address system not to touch abandoned articles and inform the police immediately about any such.
