With the second cut-off lists of Delhi University out on Tuesday, many students may hold hopes of making the grade. But here is a reality check: the percentages for most subjects have not gone down more than one to two per cent. This means that all the major colleges still have cut-offs above 90 per cent for its popular courses.

Out of a total 384 seats in SRCC for B Com Hons, 335 have been filled. Hence in the second list, cut off is being reduced by a mere 0.5 per cent. Earlier it was 94.5-98 per cent. Meanwhile, Hindu is decreasing the cut-off marks for B Com Hons by 0.5 per cent and Sri Venkateswara is reducing it by 1.25 per cent.

8220;Hansraj College only has 100 more seats to fill out of 800. So we are reducing the cut-off for B Com Hons and Economics Hons by 0.25 and 0.5 per cent, respectively,8221; said Dr S R Arora, Principal.

Girls8217; colleges are just as competitive. Kanika Khandelwal, PRO of Lady Shri Ram College, says that with more girls getting good marks in the class-XII exams, the competition is really high. 8220;The seats of English and B Com are nearly filled, so we don8217;t have to decrease the cut off much,8221; she says.
