Indianapolis, September 24: Michael Schumacher, in a Ferrari, will start from pole position in Sunday’s United States Grand Prix.

Schumacher set the fastest time in qualifying on Saturday for the 15th race of the Formula One season, ahead of McLaren-Mercedes rivals, Scotland’s David Coulthard and World championship leader Mika Hakkinen of Finland.

Behind the three leading protagonists came Schumacher’s team-mate Rubens Barrichello, Jarno Trulli, in a Jordan, and Britain’s wonderkid Jenson Button in a Williams-BMW.
