Preparing the guest list, choosing the wedding outfit, scheduling the photographer, taking the luxe beauty package and visiting the dentist! Yes, an appointment with the dentist is now a must for many brides-to-be to ensure a picture perfect smile on the D-Day. Despite a hectic work schedule and wedding preparations, Nidhi Setia, a city-based architect is on the dental chair, getting a whitening job done. “My wedding pictures have to be flawless and for that a set of sparkling teeth is a must,” Setia and her fiance Jaideep, have taken a “couple package” and bagged a discount of Rs 3,000.

Cleansing, polishing and bleaching is high on the trend list of the soon-to-be married, says Dr Sanjay Kalra, who has recently launched Trigon Smile Spa, specifically for bridal dental enhancement. “We have customized packages for those tying the knot. These are designed for depigmentation and whiter teeth,” Kalra adds that recountouring of teeth too has many takers. With people spending as much as Rs 80,000 to get that look, Asha Bains, an entrepreneur spent about Rs 45,000 to close spaces between teeth and correct overlapping teeth. “Procera laminates did a wonderful job,” Asha flashes her best smile.

In fact, the couple got cosmetic dentistry done before their wedding, and are now doing it for others too. “The process is excellent for the health of the teeth,’’ adds the couple.

Niti Juneja, a homemaker, went in for lip uplift and total smile makeover a month before the big day. Going a step ahead is Sujata Nandwani, a law student, who got a diamond pasted on her teeth for a sparkling effect. “It gives me a million-dollar smile,” she winks. We agree!
