COURIC: You cited Alaska8217;s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia8230;

COURIC: Explain why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-our next door neighbours are foreign countries8230;

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations with the Russians?

PALIN: We8212;we8212;do8212;it8217;s very important when you consider national security issues as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the U S8230; It8217;s from Alaska that we make sure that an eye is being kept on8230; Russia.

COURIC: When it comes to establishing your worldview, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read8230; to stay informed?

PALIN: I8217;ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press8230;

COURIC: But what ones specifically? I8217;m curious.

PALIN: Um, all of 8217;em, any of 8217;em that have been in front of me8230;

COURIC: Can you name a few?

PALIN: I have a vast variety of sources8230; Alaska isn8217;t a foreign country, where, it seems like, 8216;Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington,

COURIC: You8217;ve said John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business. Can you give examples of his leading the charge?

PALIN: His warnings two years ago about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac 8212; that, that8217;s paramount. That8217;s more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did.

COURIC: But he8217;s been in Congress for 26 years. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.

PALIN: He8217;s also known as the maverick, though8230;

COURIC: I8217;m just going to ask you one more time. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation?

PALIN: I8217;ll try to find you some, I8217;ll bring 8217;em to ya8230;
