NEW DELHI, AUG 27: Durga Bharti and Savitri Devi, who accused Rajya Sabha MP Sachidananad Hari Sakshi `Maharaj' of raping them, alleged on Saturday that he sexually exploited women in his 110 ashrams.Women from the ashram in Eta were supplied to politicians and other heavy weights regularly, Durga Bharti said at a press conference. Bharti, who filed an FIR against the Samajwadi Party MP a month ago, is here to present Savitri and her case before Prime Minister Vajpayee. The two women are at present being supported by a social worker in Eta.Bharti said that she did not crave for political power or publicity and was addressing the media only because she had to defend herself against the charges levelled against her by the MP at a press conference last month.Bharti said Sakshi had told the world that he had adopted her, but it was just a front to hide the fact that he had been sexually exploiting her for the past four years. ``I never considered him my father even once,'' she said. ``I made the mistake of going to him with the hope of getting a job. He not only gave me a job but even kept me in a flat adjoining the college,'' the 26-year-old said. She said she could not complain to anyone earlier as her movements were monitored and phones tapped.``I reconciled myself to the condition after the first fortnight of my stay there, but when I found that Sakshi was preying on a new woman every other day I could not take it,'' she said.Savitri Devi, the mother of three adolescent daughters, had a different story. The woman in her thirties said her husband had left her for another woman and she had won a maintenance suit against him wherein she was entitled to eight bighas of his land. But her former husband, who was working in Sakshi's Eta ashram, told the MP about this. In 1998, she was abducted from her home in Ferozabad and brought to the ashram. ``I was kept in a basement there for nine days and raped by Sakshi and later by security guards, his relatives and supporters,'' she said. She was sent home with a warning and later picked up again and kept in the ashram for 21 days. ``I was kept naked in a room all day and made to sign affidavits returning the land. The land was given not to her husband but to Sakshi,'' she said. One day, Durga Bharti found her locked up in the basement and clothed her and sent her away in a vehicle.``I was beaten up by Sakshi for what I did,'' Bharti said. She said she was helpless as Kalyan Singh was the chief minister and was very close to the MP. ``Even if I had run away, the chief minster would have personally seen to it that I was sent back to the ashram,'' she said.Savitri said she did not fear dishonour anymore as she had lost everything. She had worked as a nurse earlier but had to quit after the abduction as she feared being picked up again, she said.
