The fourth round begins today with seven Russians out of 16. They include five seeds: Myskina, Sharapova, Kuznetsova, Dementieva, Petrova. And the unseeded Linetskaya and Douchevina

The Aussie Open began with 14 Russians in the main draw, including six seeds; all 14 got through Round One. Nine won in straight sets, four staged one-set comeback wins. Svetlana Kuznetsova had the easiest match, dropping 2 games
