Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 14: RSP(B) state committee has endorsed the party secretariat decision to give up its demand for recognition as an LDF constituent and resolved to surrender all nominated posts if the LDF so demanded.Briefing newspersons on the state committee decisions here yesterday, acting state secretary Prof A V Thamarakshan said the party would not cooperate with Manaviyam. However, MLAs and elected representatives of the party would attend government programmes. He said those who were in the forefront of implementing Manaviyam ``should adopt a humanitarian approach''.Thamarakshan said he would lead a delegation to Delhi soon to apply for formal registration of RSP(B) as a political party. Leadership meetings would be held in all the 14 districts of the state next month. Jathas will also be taken out on December 16, 17 and 18 in support of a nine-point demand.Referring to their bickerings on keeping nominated posts, he said it was improper on the part of the ministerial faction to retainall nominated posts secured from the LDF when it had the backing of five MLAs. His party was ready to quit nominated posts but not the membership of the Assembly and other elected bodies. The state committee said the performance of the LDF Government was not up to the mark. The committee would forge ahead, independent of both fronts, and will garner public support by highlighting their basic problems. The Centre's anti-people policies as well as the inaction of the state government had made matters worse, it added.Their demands include liberating the state from liquor mafia and arrack and illicit toddy, solve problems in farm, industry and fisheries sectors, check price rise and unemployment.
